Fire Suppression – Stat-X Activation Indication & Test Unit

The Stat-X activation indication and test unit is designed to be installed in Stat-X aerosol generator applications where confirmation of generator activation is required.

A support arm is provided that slides between the aerosol generator housing and the generator mounting bracket for simple installation. To operate correctly, the thermal fuse must be positioned in front of the Stat-X generator’s exit ports.

When the aerosol is released, the thermal fuse activates, switching the internal contact from Normally Closed to a permanently Normally Open condition. Once activated, the TEC097 needs to be replaced.

In addition, the TEC097 is fitted with a magnetically activated contact, which can be used to test the unit. When a magnet is pressed against the body of the TEC097, the magnetic switch will activate, simulating the operation of the thermal fuse.

The output can be monitored by a conventional or intelligent fire detection system to confirm the aerosol has been released. However, when wired to a conventional fire panel zone, the unit’s activation will generate a short on the zone, resulting in a fault condition being reported on the fire control panel. A fire or fault could be reported when connected to an intelligent fire control panel via an appropriate interface unit.
